The People Who Power Workato: Raphael Ng

People Who Power Workato for Raphael

In this installment of The People Who Power Workato, we’re highlighting Raphael Ng, our Director of Enterprise Sales for Asia.

Raphael comes to us with nearly 10 years of experience in the integration and automation space, giving him a unique perspective on Workato and its position in each market.

You can read on to learn about the factors that led Raphael to join Workato and his experiences since coming on board.

1. Let’s start with an easy question: What do you do for fun?

I really enjoy cycling, running, and competing in endurance events.

I’m actually training for the Paris–Brest–Paris cycling race next year and an Ironman Triathlon later this year. As part of the training, I’m biking about 15 hours per week as well as running and swimming consistently—although I think I should be swimming more than I currently am.

I also love playing a variety of musical instruments: the acoustic guitar, keyboard, drums, and especially the bass guitar.

2. Where were you working prior to Workato? And what inspired you to join our team?

I was working at Boomi, and prior to that I was at Mulesoft.

As far as what convinced me to join Workato, I’d have to say that it comes down to multiple factors: the product roadmap, the culture, and the people. I’m just amazed by how dynamic and intelligent the team is and that everyone is willing to help. The team is consistently thinking out of the box and it shows in all of the accomplishments we’ve earned.

3. Can you tell me a bit more about your role at Workato? What do you typically do day-to-day?

I’m the Director of Enterprise Sales for Asia. It’s a super exciting role as I get to spend a lot of time speaking with C-level executives at enterprise organizations about the business and IT challenges they face and how Workato can help address them.

I also help my team navigate and structure complex deals, review and provide feedback on their calls, and interview and recruit candidates.

4. What excites you about the Workato platform?

We’re uniquely equipped to address the market convergence of integration and automation, as our platform offers the best of both worlds. Moreover, our platform successfully balances business teams’ simplicity and ease of use requirements with IT’s power, scalability, and security needs.

5. What keeps you fired up about working at Workato (as a company)?

The people, the culture, and the company’s growth! The Workato team is made up of highly-intelligent, innovative, driven, and, most importantly, great people. I’m so excited to be part of this rocketship, and as long as we each get 1% better every day, as our SVP of Global Sales always tells us, the sky’s the limit for what we can accomplish.
