The People Who Power Workato: Miguel Poliz

In this installment of The People Who Power Workato, we welcome Miguel Poliz, a Customer Success Lead for clients in EMEA.

Miguel comes to us with a background in automation, giving him a unique perspective on Workato as well as empowering him to provide additional value to our team and to clients.

Beyond his impact workwise, he’s proven to be an incredible culture fit; he makes a conscious effort to have fun with his team, and his passions for traveling and surfing lend themselves to all kinds of interesting conversations.

You can read on to learn more about Miguel, his experiences at Workato, and why he’s excited about working here.

1. Let’s start with an easy question: What do you do for fun?

I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also love surfing in Asturias (Spain) and traveling; I’ve been fortunate enough to visit more than 65 countries!

2. Where were you working prior to Workato? And what inspired you to join our team?

Before Workato I was working at another company in the automation space—UiPath.

The interview process is really what drew me in. It gave me the chance to meet a lot of super smart and interesting people from different functions. The platform and its potential caught my attention soon after. It became clear that by using Workato, customers can focus on solving business problems and forget about infrastructure or deployment issues.

3. Can you tell me a bit more about your role at Workato? What do you typically do day-to-day?

As a customer success lead, my role, first and foremost, is about being a trusted advisor to customers. This includes helping customers define their strategic approach to integration and automation, enabling them to execute on their chosen approach, and supporting them as they continue along their automation journey.

I also like to spend time with my team and make sure that we’re all having fun. And while this might be a bit challenging, given that we’re distributed between Spain, UK, Germany, and Israel, I think we’ve been able to do this successfully by communicating with one another on a daily basis and by engaging in all kinds of fun activities when we do meet in person—from trying special restaurants to participating in ax throwing.

4. What excites you about the Workato platform?

Traditional integration and automation tools usually come with a lot of complexity, which prevents the majority of employees from actually using them.

While Workato’s platform is built for the enterprise, its UX goes against the grain: Anyone can build integrations and automations in our platform without knowing how to code.

5. What keeps you fired up about working at Workato (as a company)?

There are a lot of factors that keep me excited. We get to work with super happy customers; we’re experiencing hyper-growth and still maintaining a strong culture of cross-functional collaboration; and we have a lot of flexibility in terms of where we work, when we work, and how we tackle our day-to-day tasks.

In my opinion, there are three ways to succeed: You need to be the first, the best, or unique.

Workato has managed to have all three. We’re the first automation and integration tool built for business and IT, we provide best-in-class connectors and a reliable platform, and we offer a unique and inclusive workplace culture.
