OPA 27.1 is released

OPA 27.1 introduces performance improvements and functional upgrades across SAP IDoc processing and JDBC connectivity.

  • SAP IDoc Batch – Optimized segment loading to improve performance during batch processing.
  • Send IDoc Action – Refactored logic to ensure Custom IDocs appear in the picklist.
  • New IDocs Trigger – Now displays partner type and number (RCVPRT, RCVPRN) alongside IDoc type for better traceability.
  • JDBC Connector – Connection checks have been simplified for easier setup and diagnostics.

FileStorage Anti-Virus Scanning

FileStorage now supports asynchronous file scanning and scan status tagging, improving security for files uploaded across platform features like Workflow Apps, APIM, AI, and TableStorage.

  • All uploaded files are now scanned asynchronously for malware.
  • Files are tagged with statuses: Not Scanned, Pending, Scanned, Unable to Scan, or Malicious.
  • Malicious files are automatically purged, and unscanned files will prompt confirmation before download.

Data Tables: Table-Manipulation Developer APIs

A new set of public-facing Developer APIs is now available for Data Tables, allowing external systems to programmatically manage table structure and metadata at scale.

  • Supports listing, creating, deleting, and truncating Data Tables via API.
  • Includes metadata management, providing control over table setup from outside the platform.
  • APIs follow existing Workato authentication and access controls for security and consistency.
  • Fully compatible with Embedded use cases to support partner integrations.

SAP RFC Connector: Feature, Fix, and Speed Optimization

The SAP RFC Connector has been updated in OPA 27.1 with key improvements to IDoc functionality, metadata performance, and support for custom extensions.

  • IDoc Trigger Enhancement – The description of basic IDoc types now includes associated partner numbers and partner types for improved visibility.
  • Performance Optimization – Improved batch trigger performance by loading IDoc segments once per batch instead of per record, reducing metadata refresh times.
  • Bug Fix for Custom IDocs – Updated logic now ensures custom IDoc extensions correctly appear in the picklist, covering edge cases introduced in earlier versions.

You can now perform direct lookups on Data Tables using formulas, similar to Lookup Tables (LUT), making recipes cleaner and more efficient.

  • Use the new data_table_lookup() formula to fetch records inline without extra steps.
  • Reduces task count by eliminating separate search/get actions.
  • Matches the familiar LUT pattern for consistent, intuitive recipe building.
  • Great for scenarios requiring multiple lookups with minimal complexity.

Snowflake Key Pair Authentication

To align with Snowflake’s deprecation of password-based authentication in November 2025, Workato now supports Key Pair Authentication for Snowflake connections.

  • New authentication type available in connector setup with fields for Private Key and optional Passphrase.
  • Supports both encrypted and unencrypted keys to meet varying security requirements.
  • Encryption algorithms supported include AES128, AES256, 3DES, PBE-SHA1-RC2/RC4, and more.
