The SAP RFC connector now supports real-time schema refresh and optimized connection pooling to keep integrations up-to-date and improve performance management:

• Real-time Schema Refresh: The SAP RFC Connector now allows real-time schema updates for RFC, BAPI, and IDoc without requiring OPA restarts. This enhancement ensures seamless data handling by automatically reflecting changes in the SAP backend, such as custom fields or modified data types, improving integration accuracy and efficiency.
  
• Optimized Connection Pooling: Enhanced connection pooling now available for Cloud profiles. New configuration parameters – "Connection pool capacity" and "Connection peak limit" – let you fine-tune connection management for optimal throughput and responsiveness, especially during peak usage.

New Message trigger for Workbot for Microsoft Teams allows your bot to listen to any message sent via DM or channel mention, enabling you to build Workbots that can react and respond to natural language. This trigger opens up greater possibilities for automation and engagement when coupled with AI powered workflows using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Bedrock and Google Vertex.

The SAP OData Connector now supports HTTP Offload Proxy to enable long-running actions like handling large datasets or bulk data requests. This enhancement introduces a new “Extract Bulk Data” action, which allows for extended response times, ensuring efficient processing for SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration scenarios and other large-scale operations.

For September 2024, ServiceNow resolved an authentication error, Microsoft Dynamics 365 improved batch action error messaging, and SFTP addressed encoding issues when uploading files. We’re thrilled to share this month’s updates from the Workato community for September 2024! This month, we’ve added 22 new or updated connectors, including Google Meet for seamless video conferencing, AWS GuardDuty for enhanced security monitoring, and WooCommerce for easy e-commerce management. Additionally, we have worked on some of our existing connectors, such as Google Gemini, Sage Intacct, and SAP Business One, with various improvements and bug fixes. Curious about the updates? Tags are now available for Recipes, Connections, Pages, and Data Tables. This feature helps organize assets, improve searchability, and group assets across projects. Tags also contribute to the business value dashboard.

• Permissions: Tag creation is managed in workspace settings.
• Tagging & Managing: Add, edit, or remove tags via UI or APIs. Bulk actions are supported.
• Tag Filtering: Search by tags on assets/projects pages, with future support in the Operations Hub.

Recipe Copilot now includes Recipe Sketches, allowing users to generate a visual outline of recipes based on input. The sketch includes apps, actions, and steps, helping accelerate recipe creation by giving builders a clear starting point to refine, accept, or build iteratively. This feature available to all customers using Recipe Copilot.

Recipe-powered dropdowns allow you to dynamically retrieve and display data from any source using recipes. This new capability allows you to:

– Connect to and retrieve data from virtually any source as a recipe data source
– Load dropdown options in real time, reflecting the latest data
– Ensure secure integration for safe and reliable data retrieval
– Apply filters and custom input parameters to tailor dropdown options
– Enable typeahead mode to narrow down options as users type

The SAP OData Connector now supports bypassing SAML2/SSO authentication for non-SAP users or system-type users connecting via OAuth2. This enhancement simplifies integration in SAML2.0 setups by allowing bypass authentication for non-federated users, ensuring seamless connectivity while maintaining governance and compliance. This update provides greater flexibility for integration scenarios where users establishing connections in Workato may not have direct SAP access.
