Workato Australia & New Zealand: Making Waves

Israel Data Center Blog Hero

Workato, the leading enterprise orchestration platform, is proud to announce a wave of momentum across Australia, marked by the onboarding of new customers, the launch of its Sydney AI and Automation Office, and the expansion of its local team.

Recognized as a Leader

Workato’s growth continues off the back of some impressive awards including being recommended by 100% of customers in 2024 Gartner® Peer Insights™ Voice of the Customer for iPaaS as well as being recognised as a leader for the sixth consecutive year in Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS).

“Our 80% year-on-year growth in Australia and New Zealand is a direct reflection of the trust our customers place in Workato’s powerful automation and integration platform. Leading Australian enterprises like Atlassian, Southbase Construction, Village Roadshow and Canva are leveraging Workato not just for business process orchestration, but to prepare for a more agentic, AI-enabled future.

Our continued investment in the region—anchored by the newly created AI & Automation Hub, Australian data centre, IRAP assessment and plans to grow our local team fivefold over the next three years—demonstrates our long-term commitment to enabling secure, sovereign-ready automation at scale.

Beyond Workato’s own growth, Workato is now estimated to contribute over $90 million annually to the Australian and New Zealand economies, directly and indirectly supporting thousands of technology jobs across customers and partners. This reflects not just our shared success with customers and partners, but the growing strategic importance of enterprise orchestration in transforming how Australian and New Zealand businesses operate.”

– Charlie Hutchinson, VP Australia & New Zealand

Investing in Local Talent

Since the start of 2025, the Workato ANZ team has grown by over 60% — expanding from 22 to 36 people. This growth reflects our continued investment in building strong local capability to support customers across APAC. Looking ahead, we’re deepening that commitment with plans to expand into the New Zealand market and grow our internal GTM team to accelerate regional momentum.

To support this growth, Workato has welcomed several new team members in Australia in the last few quarters, as well as extend the role of existing leaders including:

Customers Powering Australian Innovation

Australian organisations are increasingly turning to Workato to streamline operations, drive digital transformation, and unlock the power of AI-driven automation. Customer wins include:

“We want to engage the business teams as part of our automation story, rather than simply doing things on their behalf. I think the future of automation is to enable our employees to have their own digital assistants. This removes the dependency on our IT teams, and our people will be equipped to resolve issues quickly on their own.”
Srividya Sathyamurthy, Senior Manager of Intelligent Automation at Atlassian
“Workato allowed us to put innovative technology in the hands of Canvanauts in a governed way, accelerating the impact that can be achieved with our IT team”
Michael Denari, Global Head of IT, Canva
“One of the things that Workato did to us is that now our dashboards are very boring – no spikes, no outages. Workato did not even break a sweat with major blockbuster releases like Barbenheimer, the biggest weekend for Australian cinema since 2019”
Arul Arogyanathan, CIO, Village Roadshow Group
“This isn’t just an opportunity for our IT team to leverage AI in isolation. Instead, it’s our responsibility to intelligently orchestrate with AI, so that our workers don’t lose precious time when a safety hazard presents itself. Workato is built to be this orchestrator.”
Lem Prestage, Group IT Manager, Southbase Group

Giving Back to Local Not-For-Profits

Workato Cares is the official philanthropy and social impact arm of Workato. Its mission is to empower employees to give back and make a difference, reinforce Workato’s culture of responsibility and purpose and drive positive change in communities globally through volunteering, donations, and technology.

Workato ANZ has partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities, supporting the mission to provide accommodation and support to families with seriously ill children, with the goal to drive.

Aligning to Australian Security and Privacy Requirements

Workato recently announced two major developments in Australian security and privacy – the ANZ data centre as well as successfully completing an IRAP assessment, which demonstrates compliance with the Australian government’s ISM (Information Security Manual) at the PROTECTED level. This independent assessment confirms that Workato meets strict cybersecurity standards required for handling sensitive government data and delivering secure, trusted services.

With the announcement of the Australia data center, our growing customer base in Australia and New Zealand regions can now choose where their Workato account is hosted.

The new Australia data center allows organisations in the region to better utilise the benefits of the Workato platform by offering closer geographic proximity to their data.
