Celebrating the Future of Work: A Look Back at The Work Revolution Developer Challenge
Turning innovation into real-world impact takes more than just a good idea. You need vision, collaboration and a good platform for execution. This belief inspired us to launch The Work Revolution National Developer Challenge, a first-of-its-kind initiative by Workato and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).
The challenge brought together some of Singapore’s brightest minds to reimagine the future of work through automation, integration, and AI. And the results were truly inspiring.
Singapore’s Brightest Innovators Rise to the Challenge
With over S$18,000 in cash prizes and the opportunity to showcase ideas to top leaders across the public and private sectors, the challenge attracted developers, students, citizen technologists, and IT professionals eager to make a real impact. For the duration of the challenge, participants were given full access to the Workato enterprise platform and exclusive AI features, empowering them to build advanced and scalable real-world solutions.
After weeks of development, mentorship, and intense pitching, three outstanding solutions emerged as the final winners. Each idea demonstrated the power of enterprise orchestration to transform industries and uplift communities.
🥇 First Place: (我)rk 爱 AI – by Xin Ying, Isaac, Wan Qing and Xi Hui
Designed to serve Singapore’s social impact sector, this solution helps resource-strapped charities by intelligently matching volunteers using an AI-assisted onboarding system. It accelerates screening and routes candidates to the roles where they can have the greatest impact. With its scalable architecture, the solution also holds strong potential for recruitment and other functions.
🥈 Second Place: Team Nauticodes – by Seaco
A standout solution from one of Workato’s own customers, Nauticodes created an AI-driven, voice-enabled depot process automation designed for accessibility and inclusivity. The team also developed an AI agent capable of reading and triaging image-based damage assessments for shipping containers. This solution could save over S$4.5m a year, and has potential to scale across other industries like manufacturing, healthcare and insurance.
🥉 Third Place: AID – Enhanced Agentic Healthcare Patient Journey Management – by Rohan Dev
This solo effort delivered a unified, intelligent patient journey solution designed to reduce administrative load on healthcare staff by 35-50%. The solution also allows patients to experience personalised care coordination. By orchestrating end-to-end event streams and enabling personalized care coordination, the solution offers both operational agility and the potential for broad adoption in healthcare systems.
Beyond Competition: A Commitment to Singapore’s Digital Economy
While the challenge may have concluded, the impact of the solutions presented are only just beginning to take shape. Every participant had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with Workato’s enterprise automation platform, and many walked away with new skills, perspectives, and connections that will serve them well as they navigate a rapidly evolving digital economy.
By tapping into local talent and empowering builders to tackle real-world business challenges, Workato and IMDA continue to drive Singapore’s Smart Nation goals forward, in line with the country’s vision of being a digital innovation hub in Asia.
