Workato Named a Leader in the 2025 Forrester Wave™ for iPaaS

The 2025 Forrester Wave for Integration Platforms as a Service (iPaaS)

We’re honored to share that Forrester has named Workato a Leader in the Forrester Wave™: Integration Platform As A Service (iPaaS), Q3 2025. We believe this recognition is a confirmation of Workato’s continued commitment to iPaaS excellence. In fact, Forrester gave Workato the highest possible scores in the Vision, Innovation, and Roadmap criteria.

The report also confirms what we’ve long believed, that integration on its own isn’t enough for the modern enterprise. Today’s customers require an iPaaS that supports their AI and automation strategies with AI agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and other features.

“iPaaS is evolving. While integration remains at its core, AI and automation adjacencies are increasingly pushing iPaaS into business process orchestration.” — The Forrester Wave™: Integration Platform As A Service, Q3 2025

What is the Forrester Wave™ for iPaaS?

The Forrester Wave for iPaaS is a guide for buyers considering their purchasing options in the integration tool marketplace. To provide recommendations, Forrester analysts rate 10 top vendors across more than a dozen criteria to determine which solutions fit the needs of buyers. The results highlight which companies are Leaders, Strong Performers, and Contenders.

The 2025 report outlines several important trends for buyers to keep in mind:

  • iPaaS is becoming central to AI strategies, powering event delivery, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), and the tools agents need to act.
  • The market is moving toward Adaptive Process Orchestration (APO), where AI agents, deterministic workflows, and human oversight come together.
  • Organizations must remove bottlenecks by opening integration to more than just central IT. Vendors with natural language assistance and easier build experiences are increasingly important.

Why Workato is a Leader

Workato is positioned as a Leader among the evaluated iPaaS providers based on its top scores possible in the Vision, Innovation, Roadmap, Adoption, and six other criteria. Workato also earned a halo, which Forrester uses to indicate above-average customer feedback relative to other evaluated vendors.

Forrester notes in the report that in recent years Workato has greatly expanded its capabilities to disrupt incumbent iPaaS vendors. The report cites several strengths:

  • Strategy. Workato’s roadmap emphasizes AI-based assistance, tools for agent building and governance, and business process optimization. The report also gives Workato the highest possible score in the Adoption criterion, noting features like AI-based chat help, a formalized adoption framework, and accessible product documentation.
  • Capabilities. According to the Forrester report, Workato provides “top-notch tools to create and publish AI agents” and brings agentic capabilities into workflows through LLM connectors and early Model Context Protocol. The platform’s ease of use is superb, with AI able to suggest workflow improvements for cost, security, and operational design quality.
  • Customer feedback. Customers praise Workato’s support, likening it to “family.”

Moving beyond integration to enterprise orchestration

Workato customers, like Atlassian, Asana, and DataStax, are innovators who need more than a legacy iPaaS can provide. These are companies that are using AI to transform repetitive tasks into high-value interactions and double their IT performance and efficiency.

That innovation inspired the launch of the Workato ONE platform, which came to life at this year’s World of Workato customer conference. Workato Genies, pre-built enterprise agents, can now take on everyday workflows across IT, finance, HR, and customer-facing teams. These AI agents are digital teammates that can execute real work in production.

We also unveiled Workato GO, a new enterprise super app that combines search, automation, and AI into a single experience, giving employees the ability to find information and take action without toggling between systems.

These innovations are grounded in the same priorities that Forrester highlighted in its evaluation: ease of use, governance, and a platform that adapts as business needs evolve. As enterprises adopt AI at scale, Workato ensures they can do so securely and with full visibility.

With Forrester’s recognition and the momentum of our recent product innovations, we’re confident that Workato is delivering the right platform at the right time. And we’re just getting started.
