Changelog
Keep up with the latest updates we’ve made in Workato.
Handle CSV data more efficiently with enhancements to to FileStorage
To further enhance our data integration solution, we have updated and added bulk and batch CSV actions and triggers for Workato FileStorage to assist in processing, configuring, and monitoring data.
With FileStorage actions:
- Store a CSV file along with its column data type schema in a directory (Create file action)
- Append CSV lines to an already existing file with column data type validation (Append to file action)
- Fetch CSV lines from a file in batches from an existing file (Get CSV lines from file action)
With FileStorage triggers:
- Trigger and fetch any data type as a byte stream once it is available (New file bulk trigger)
- Extract complete CSV file data in batches (New CSV file batch trigger)
- Monitor a particular CSV file and fetch new lines appended to the file (New lines in a CSV file batch trigger)
Custom column filtering for Workflow Apps portal
When in a Workflow App, you can now filter by any of the columns visible to your role within the app, and bookmark a preferred view based on the filters set.
Examples include filtering to expenses or procurement requests above a certain dollar threshold, or narrowing down to onboarding employees in a particular department.
Audit log streaming email error notifications
When audit log streaming fails, Workato now sends email notifications to the workspace admin of your account and to all users designated in the error notifications email list. For Embedded accounts, email recipients are determined based on the workspace where audit log streaming is enabled.
Email notifications will be sent for the following error types:
- Voluntary disconnections by a user
- Involuntary disconnections, when Workato detects we no longer have access
- Destination-specific errors
Specify personal date and time format from profile settings
You can now choose between 12 and 24 hour and between m/d/y and d/m/y formats from your profile settings. Available formats are:
- Dec 31, 2024 1:00 PM (%b %d, %Y %l:%M %p)
- Dec 31, 2024 13:00 (%b %d, %Y %H:%M)
- 31 Dec, 2024 1:00 PM (%d %b, %Y %l:%M %p)
- 31 Dec, 2024 13:00 (%d %b, %Y %H:%M)
The option you choose here is reflected across your workspace, but will not affect date and time format for other users in this workspace.
Formula generation added for Recipe Copilot
For workspaces with Recipe Copilot enabled, you can now use natural language to ask Copilot to generate a formula to accomplish your goal. Copilot evaluates what combination of data pills and/or formulas will best satisfy your request, before offering you a suggestion to accept or revise as needed.
This functionality receives data about your current recipe, which may include metadata about custom fields in your systems, but does not receive any job data.
Wait for Response available for HTTP Connector
If you know an endpoint will take more than a few seconds to respond, you can now configure the HTTP action as a long action. The action will wait for a response for up to an hour, but does not guarantee ordering of job execution.
HTTP long action is a a beta release, available to everyone using Workato's HTTP connector.
Audit log streaming retry
In the event Workato is unable to stream a log to the specified destination, Workato will retry sending the log repeatedly using an exponential backoff formula. To enable this, logs are kept in a persistent cache until:
- The audit log reaches its destination successfully, or
- Seven (7) days have passed.
Each retry attempt is logged in the Workato Logs service for visibility into the process.

SAP OData Connector now supports catalog service for easy recipe building
Previously, working with the SAP OData connector required entering the internal technical name of the desired service and manually checking permissions to said service. Now, when the catalog service is enabled, creating an action or trigger will prompt a user-friendly dropdown menu, offering a selection of OData services and enhancing efficiency and reducing errors.
New Wait for resume action for Connector SDK
Wait for resume actions allow you to define actions that can suspend jobs until an event takes place in an external system, such as waiting for an invoice to be approved, or waiting for an email to be opened. With this new action, builders and partners alike can better model workflows and simplify their recipe build experience.
