2025 Product Highlights

Table of Contents

If 2024 was the year businesses embraced generative AI, 2025 was the year they demanded AI with consistent performance, enterprise-grade security, and measurable ROI. At Workato, we focused on giving organizations the platform to do that.

Workato Enterprise MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the foundation for the agentic era, providing the context, trust, and accuracy that production AI deployments require. We’ve delivered confidence and compliance through Enterprise Trust, coordination across systems with Enterprise Orchestration, and execution you can rely on via Enterprise Skills. We’ve changed how companies operationalize AI. With Workato, they’re not bolt-on experiments, they are governed systems integrated into core business operations.

Whether you’re a CIO demanding control, a builder seeking speed, or a business leader proving ROI, this year’s releases deliver the tools to deploy AI at scale. Here’s the wrap-up of Workato’s biggest releases from 2025.

Agentic

Agent Studio: Build AI Agents that Execute Advanced Workflows

Agent Studio allows you to build, deploy, and govern AI agents.

Capabilities added this year:

  • Agent Orchestration: Assign tasks to Genies directly within recipes, skills, or MCP/API endpoints so they can operate autonomously and drive advanced, AI-powered workflows.
  • Human-in-the-Loop Approvals: Route decisions requiring oversight to the right person via Slack or Teams.
  • Build, Test & Audit: Test Mode in Agent Studio allows for observability, Conversation History for full auditability, and templates to jumpstart common use cases.

Agent Knowledge Base: The Memory Layer for Intelligent Agents

Building capable agents requires more than orchestration alone. An agent is only as smart as the data it can access.

Agent Knowledge Base is the centralized memory layer that unifies your business data into a single, context-rich source of truth. Using semantic search, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and federated queries, it lets agents access your data intelligently, delivering faster, more accurate responses.

Workato GO: Enterprise Search with Deep Action™

Workato GO delivers Enterprise Search that combines real-time, permission-aware discovery with the ability to take action. Employees can find data across Jira, Slack, and other systems. Then with Deep Action™, they can execute multi-step tasks directly within the search interface. Action Board brings everything together in one place, giving everyone, from executives to individual contributors, a clear, role-aware view of what matters most. This means teams can:

  • Connect actions to results: View agent activity alongside business KPIs to understand impact and prove ROI.
  • Stay focused: Build role-based dashboards that highlight the metrics most relevant to each team.
  • Act quickly: Approve requests, act on alerts, and trigger workflows without leaving the interface.

Genies

Pre-Packaged Genies by Department Empowering Your Teams

Most organizations need solutions that work now, not after months of custom development. At World of Workato (WoW) 2025, we launched pre-packaged Genies equipped with the skills to handle complex processes. These include Genies for:

  • Sales: Create quotes, CRM updates, and pipeline analysis
  • IT: Resolve support tickets, optimize licenses, and manage incidents
  • Support: Handle customer questions and escalate with full context
  • HR & Recruiting: Orchestrate the hiring process and orchestrate onboarding
  • Marketing: Accelerate campaigns and lead operations
  • Customer Experience: Gain customer insights and tailored customer actions
  • Security: Reduce response times with 24/7 monitoring and playbook-driven responses

You can also build custom Genies for any other use cases you would want to solve with Agent Studio

Enterprise MCP

MCP Gateway: The Secure Control Layer for AI

Workato’s MCP Gateway serves as the secure control layer between your AI applications and your business systems. It ensures AI applications can act safely, intelligently, and at scale.

You can use Workato API collections and project assets to create MCP Servers, allowing you to reuse your existing workflows to power third-party AI agents and applications.

Verified User Access makes Workato MCP Gateway even more secure. It enables end users to authenticate with their own credentials when interacting with MCP tools. When a user asks an agent to “show my Jira tickets,” the agent uses that specific user’s OAuth credentials, meaning they only see what they’re authorized to see. This means AI agents can work autonomously while maintaining security standards, eliminating shared account risks and ensuring complete audit trails.

Orchestrate Data at Scale with Data Pipelines

Companies struggle to keep business data synchronized across systems. Data Pipelines launched earlier this year to offer a scalable solution for replicating data from business systems to destinations like Snowflake and Databricks. This recipe type allows builders to map multiple objects within a single pipeline, featuring parallel execution for speed and automatic schema evolution to handle changes seamlessly.

Additionally, the Orchestration Dashboard gives organizations better visibility into orchestration activity across Data Pipelines. Monitor pipeline run status, duration, and volume across orchestration workflows in your workspace, enabling efficient troubleshooting of data ingestion pipelines and ensuring your data flows remain healthy and performant.

Decision Models: Transparent, Scalable Business Logic

Complex business logic often lives scattered across workflows, making it hard to maintain and audit. Decision Models solve this by letting you turn that logic into maintainable tables outside your workflows.

From lead scoring and dynamic pricing to risk checks and order fulfillment, Decision Models make it easier to scale, audit, and evolve complex business logic. Now, with a recent release, users can chain multiple Decision Tables with conditional branches, allowing for even more powerful use cases.

Low-Code Apps: Building Custom Experiences

Use Low-Code Apps to build custom applications entirely within Workato, with real-time interactions between your UI and backend. Perfect for creating CRM interfaces, HR portals, and admin panels that respect individual user credentials and permissions.

In addition to real-time interactions and verified user access, the following features are also new this year:

  • Public Forms: Collect information from external users with no login required. Public forms are ideal for job applications, vendor registration, and customer intake.
  • Custom Domains: Host apps and send emails using your own domain to elevate your brand.
  • Enhanced Table Widget: Read-only columns, granular permissions, and resizable columns for improved data quality and usability.
  • Images from URLs: Images can now be displayed directly from URLs within Low-Code Apps, enabling dynamic experiences.

APIM

Workato API management offers enterprise-grade security, a low-code builder, and a self-service developer portal within a highly performant, fully managed platform. New in 2025:

  • Custom Domains: White-label your API Developer Portal with custom domains, making it a seamless extension of your brand and providing enhanced privacy
  • Mutual TLS (mTLS): Enforce two-way authentication between client and server with comprehensive certificate management
  • OAuth 2.0 Token Introspection: Validate access tokens issued by external identity providers
  • API Traffic Mirroring: Forward API traffic to external security platforms

Data Tables: Store and Manage More Data for Your Workflows

As a powerful successor to Lookup Tables, Data Tables has enhancements to let you store and manage 10x more data with advanced search capabilities. Purpose-built for orchestration, they remove the need for external databases, providing a seamless experience right inside your recipes.

Workato EDI Powered by Orderful: A Modern Approach to B2B Integration

EDI remains critical for business, but outdated tools create unnecessary friction like slow setup, brittle mapping, and limited visibility. Workato EDI powered by Orderful brought a modern, unified approach to B2B integration by combining real-time connectivity with powerful automation.

The result? Faster partner onboarding, streamlined mapping, and end-to-end visibility across your entire B2B ecosystem. For companies with just a few partners and need a basic connector, EDI Tools by Workato works great. For those managing larger partner networks, Workato EDI powered by Orderful is the perfect solution. Both options eliminate complexity while maintaining the control and reliability businesses demand.

Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)

Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) automates data extraction from semi-structured and unstructured documents, including receipts, PDFs, emails, contracts, and handwritten notes. By transforming this content into orchestratable data, IDP allows agents to act and workflows to execute, driving speed and efficiency. The latest release further enhanced these capabilities with improved accuracy and confidence scoring.

Platform and Community Connectors

Throughout 2025, we’ve significantly expanded our connector ecosystem, creating and updating numerous platform and community connectors to help you connect to even more applications. These connectors extend the reach of your workflows across a growing landscape of business tools and services. From emerging SaaS platforms to specialized industry applications, our connector library continues to grow to meet your integration needs. Check out this year’s monthly connector updates on the Product Hub.

Embedded

Enterprise MCP for SaaS Platforms: Powering Your Customers’ AI Agents

MCP for SaaS lets Embedded partners extend their existing SaaS with an intelligent, agentic layer without rewriting code or APIs. Now, any customer-built agent (including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Cursor) can securely trigger workflows, orchestrating complex, multi-step actions across apps, APIs, and customer systems.

Speed matters, but trust matters more. MCP for SaaS delivers unified authentication, role-based access control, complete audit trails, and end-to-end monitoring so your customers’ agents can take action with confidence while your platform remains at the core of every process.

Reduce Customer Friction with Connection Widget Customization

Embedded Partners can hide, lock, and pre-fill fields within Workato’s Connection Widget to simplify authentication and eliminate friction for end customers. Removing confusing optional fields, pre-populating standard values, and locking critical settings helps prevent errors.

Dynamic Field Mapping for Embed: API & Widget Ready

Dynamic Field Mapping is designed specifically for our Embedded partners. Embedded partners can configure recipes to support custom field mappings between third-party systems. Dynamic Field Mapping enables your end customers to map both standard and custom fields from a source step to a destination step, without the complexity of modifying the underlying logic.

AI Orchestration Capabilities for Embedded Users

This year, AI orchestration capabilities were extended to Embedded users, allowing for accelerated development, streamlined documentation, and optimized workflows directly within their workflows with AIRO, AI by Workato, and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).

Looking Ahead

Looking ahead to 2026, we’re establishing Workato Enterprise MCP as the foundation for the agentic era. As AI moves from experimentation to production, organizations need more than isolated tools, they need a comprehensive platform that brings it all together.

Our vision centers on four integrated priorities that address the real challenges of enterprise AI deployment:

  1. Making Workato the premier platform for deploying AI agents at scale. Whether you’re building agents with Agent Studio, other custom toolkits or using Workato’s pre-packaged Genies, Workato provides the foundation to make them production-ready.
  2. Delivering the enterprise-grade security and governance you depend on. AI agents accessing sensitive data and executing business-critical tasks require robust controls, auditability, and compliance from day one.
  3. Connecting builders, partners, and platforms through unprecedented ecosystem extensibility. The most powerful AI implementations don’t exist in isolation. They integrate across your entire technology stack.
  4. Enabling seamless orchestration across all your business systems.  From integrating applications and orchestrating complex processes, Workato provides the foundation to connect everything, whether you’re deploying AI agents or streamlining traditional business operations.

With this unified approach, you can confidently deploy AI at scale while maintaining full enterprise control and delivering the measurable ROI your business demands. This is how enterprises transform AI from promise into practice.
