Workato AI Gateway

One layer that governs every model call, every tool, every agent, and every API request, split into four purpose-built surfaces underneath.

Why govern them as one layer

Requests don't stay in one lane - your gateway shouldn't either

A single agent action can cross all four surfaces in one call: an agent (Agent Gateway) calls a model (Model Gateway) to decide what to do, reaches a tool over MCP (MCP Gateway), and that tool executes against an API (API Gateway). Govern these separately and you get four audit trails that don't connect, and a policy you have to set four times. Govern them under one layer, and a single rule - a masked PII field, a blocked model, a revoked key - applies the instant you set it, wherever in the chain it would have mattered.

  • lock

    One identity, four surfaces

Enterprise SSO, SCIM provisioning, and role-based access apply the same way whether the caller is an application hitting the Model Gateway or an agent or user invoking a tool through the MCP Gateway.

  • compliance

    One policy, resolved consistently

PII masking, prompt-injection screening, and content moderation are defined once and enforced at whichever gateway the request happens to hit, in enforce or observe-only mode.

  • complex

One audit trail, start to finish

Trace a single action from the prompt that triggered it through the tool it called and the API it hit, instead of stitching four logs together after an incident.
