and recipe development was taking place in production, leading to all kinds of errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hima Satoor, the Director of Enterprise Systems at Box, cited the following as the sources of these issues:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog2workato.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/zhVlElNYuWWWTvM2aXxR21H8wn7Z4YTFaz45u04qKP4B6D_1jnt9OJYEecUec-iEJzuVANwo7PilRzr4_g3FJTCp6hDVTWuLD5kgTtvO0xIVoDVtgk9z2Ev3xeDqGpJZHNJJjD6zRTd2R_ZLfg.png\" alt=\"The root issues Box experienced without an effective approach to managing Workato\" width=\"726\" height=\"195\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Lack of ownership: <\/strong>There wasn\u2019t a defined owner at the recipe level.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Limited visibility: <\/strong>Teams were working in silos and didn\u2019t know what their colleagues were implementing\u2014leading to many duplicate or similar recipes.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Zero traceability &amp; <em>ES Admin <\/em>enables the enterprise systems team to review the recipes in the testing environment, provide feedback to the appropriate business users, and once the recipes work as planned, pushes them to production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog2workato.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/5v4J63-lA3wslVBYddvZzP5vZv-7XZOpKqnMv8K5lqKUmbUwqI9JL2hRW-95wg4g8xXHqjMjDieV73O1-CK7YrN9sHQhnVG_n3NlXpHwnORXhpOoHfuKi_TwyMh4e3zY1D7j2hRc5E5DLX0IEA.png\" alt=\"A breakdown of the responsibilities and capabilities available to an ES Admin and a Recipe Admin in Workato\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On top of these roles, Satoor\u2019s team set up an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.workato.com\/the-connector\/automation-center-of-excellence\/\">automation center of excellence<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"article__quote article__quote_v1\">\r\n    <div class=\"article__quote-decor\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u201c<\/div>\r\n    <div class=\"article__quote-text\">\r\n\t\t\u201cThe goal of the team (center of excellence) is to provide central guidance to business users, whereas the responsibility of building and maintaining the recipes remain with the business teams.\u201d    <\/div>\r\n\t        <div class=\"article__quote-author\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t                <span class=\"article__quote-author-name\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\tHima Satoor\t\t\t\t<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t                <span class=\"article__quote-author-position\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\tDirector of Enterprise Systems at Box\t\t\t\t<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t        <\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The center of excellence consists of various roles, from developer to QA to administrator, ensuring they execute a number of tasks effectively.
