The NSW state government is made up of several different departments and agencies that carry out the activities of government.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of Workato\u2019s Australian partners, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flowbuilders.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FlowBuilders<\/a>, helps these departments and agencies make Salesforce-based processes faster and less labor-intensive. Recently, these included streamlining the process to administer assistance measures to the rural sector, as well as small businesses that have suffered loss or damage due to natural disasters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Apps<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.workato.com\/integrations\/salesforce\/?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=flowbuilders-pt2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Salesforce<\/a><\/li><li>CM9<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.workato.com\/integrations\/sap_erp\/?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=flowbuilders-pt2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SAP<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Challenges<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government needed to process thousands of applications for drought aid in a matter of days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Impact<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Faster drought aid delivered to farmers by streamlining the aid application process with automations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drought, bushfires, and more recently COVID-19 have placed a major financial strain on farmers and agricultural businesses. To help these businesses, NSW needed to quickly and efficiently distribute financial aid in the form of grants, loans, and subsidies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMany of our farmers are having a hard time coping with today\u2019s events, financially,\u201d Robi George, FlowBuilder\u2019s co-founder and Director of Consulting says. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen subsidies, loans, and grants programs are made available to farmers who are struggling with these events, it\u2019s important for agencies to be able to quickly process and assess applications, to get the funding where it is needed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Slow, Manual Processing of Aid Applications No Longer Adequate<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Previously, aid applications were submitted by email, paper or via fax, and could take up to several weeks to process manually. But with thousands of farmers in need of immediate assistance, this approach was unscalable and no longer adequate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The solution needed to be built quickly and had to be much more efficient.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFlowBuilders had to set up a digital version of the process very quickly\u2014over a single weekend initially,\u201d George recalls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The process begins when a farmer submits an application via a web form. These applications are routed into Salesforce, where a new case is created.
